1978 made-for-TV biopic about NBC News correspondent Betty Rollin and how her battle with breast cancer and the resulting mastectomy affected her marriage and her life. This movie is adapted from her 1976 autobiography of the same name and she also served as a writer. Despite Rollin being employed by NBC at the time, this movie was made for and aired on CBS. In 1979, Saturday Night Live aired a sketch parodying this movie called "First He Cries" starring Bill Murray and Gilda Radner. The sketch resulted in over 500 complaints; 200 by phone and 300 by letter, but Rollins was not among the complainers; she sent the SNL crew a letter of support thanking them. Starring Mary Tyler Moore, Anthony Perkins, Jennifer Warren, Richard Dysart, Florence Eldridge (in her final movie), Don Johnson, and Richard Crenna.

Three years after this movie, following a lengthy battle with terminal cancer, Betty Rollin's mother passed away via medically-assisted death, something that Rollin herself spent decades campaigning for. In November 2023, Rollin passed away in the same manner at the age of 87 years old. May she rest in peace.

Filmed from February 14th to March 16th, 1978
Airdate: November 8th, 1978
