![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1978 made-for-TV fantasy-comedy-musical that parodies the story of Cinderella. This was shot on video (video tape, not to be confused with VHS tape). Trading late-1600s France for wartime Harlem, New York, a small African-American girl dreams of attending the Sugar Hill Ball and if you know the story of Cinderella, you pretty much know the story of this film; evil stepmother, evil step-sisters, fairy godmother (fairy godfather in this case), missing shoe, yadda yadda yadda. Unlike in Cinderella, Cindy's father is present and instead of a Prince, we have a U.S. Navy Captain! Amusingly, this film was directed by William A. Graham and also features a Graham automobile! ![]() Three-star limo that serves as the equivalent to Cinderella's carriage. Looks to be an early-'40s Packard but it's too badly visible to tell. Will list if it can be identified! ![]() ![]() ![]() Set in 1943. Airdate: March 24th, 1978 -- Last edit: 2025-03-25 20:50:31 |
