![]() ![]() 1976 made-for-TV war-drama about Harry S. Truman and General Douglas MacArthur butting heads over the best way to handle the Korean War. Unless you're a die-hard fan of either person or have a large interest in the Korean War, I'd give this one a pass as the vast majority of the film is people just sitting around tables and talking with war stock footage spliced in. Despite only being 1 hour, 41 minutes, the dailymotion upload had this split into three 55-minute chunks. Since this movie doesn't even run 2 hours, let alone 3, footage from one part would appear in another, though I'm confident I got the vast majority of vehicles "featured". War experts will know that Truman eventually won, pulling MacArthur out of Korea due to him wanting to drop several nuclear weapons on China, an act that I've heard would have "opened Pandora's box", as it were as the Soviet Union had managed to develop nuclear weapons of it's own by this point. Starring Henry Fonda as General of the Army Douglas MacArthur and E.G. Marshall as Harry S. Truman! Both men had previous shared the silver screen in 12 Angry Men. Set in 1950 Airdate: January 4th, 1976 |
