In the 4th thumbnail of the scrapyard, there's a Volkswagen Beetle with a split-oval rear window. Aren't those pretty rare these days?

@CougarTim: Yes, but there must have been a good few still around in 1961 - not all in scrapyards, either.

@Ralph: in your thumbnail showing the Gutbrod, do you have any idea what that grille in the middle belongs to? I've a feeling I ought to know, and I don't.

@chris40: not realy a idea. is this a truck or a car?

Hmm, it's not exactly the same grille. Due the size of the front lamps it's surely something pre-war.

@Ralph: "truck or car" is a problem with pre-war-cars in the Germany after the war, because a lot of the few cars, which have survived the war, which were not destroyed, not confiscated by Wehrmacht or SS - or later on by the Allied troops, were changed in the 40ies to small trucks.

@CougarTim: compared with the other cars, you can see on these pics, a split-screen-Beetle is the most common one! In that times and today much more.

Could it be a Tempo E 600: /vehicle_99547-Tempo-E-600-1936.html ?

Could be.
Yes, you're coming closer.

I'd agree that it is a Tempo E-600.

The vehicle in the top row half hidden by the left actor might be a post-war Ostner Rex 4 (1950-55). I haven't yet found an online-picture to show you ... only in print.
