GodzillaFan54 ◊ 2026-07-23 17:06	1936 British futurist sci-fi film notably written by famed science-fiction pioneer H.G. Wells adapting his 1933 book, The Shape of Things to Come! In 1940, a Second World War breaks out on Christmas Day, leading to the South England city of Everytown being reduced to little more than bombed-out ruins as this Second World War stretches on for decades until 1965, rendering Everytown and the world a post-apocalyptic wasteland ravaged by a pestilence known as the "Wandering Sickness" while petty warlords and tyrants rule over what's left of mankind, with citizens barely scratching by. That is, until a futuristic airplane lands shortly nearby, being flown by John Cabal, a pilot in the early stages of the war who is now a high-ranking member of Wings Over the World, a vast group that has shed the notions of individual nations and religions to purely focus on rebuilding and advancing mankind in the name of science! Once the ruins of Everytown have been conquered and Wings Over the World has achieved world domination, mankind advances further and further up to the year 2036, where mankind is aiming to finally reach the moon! However, there are those who wish to destroy the massive space gun intended to shoot the rocket into orbit! Can the launch be successfully pulled off so far ahead of schedule or will mankind return to it's barbaric ways? Featuring AMAZING special effects for 1936! This movie is from 1936 but Everytown's destruction during a nightly bombing raid eeriely predicted the coming Blitz. Indeed, these shots of a destroyed Everytown strongly resemble newsreel footage from 4-5 years later. Futuristic aircraft, including an oddball proto-helicopter that functions like a VTOL plane. Futuristic excavator (in purpose rather than the construction vehicle) Everytown in 2036 The Shape of Fashions Yet To Come (aka in ten years) Set in 1940, 1966, 1967, 1970, and 2036. As working titles are no longer permitted in the AKAs, The Hundred Years to Come, The Shape of Things to Come, and Whither Mankind should be removed. Current HD pics replaced with larger images, film complete! -- Last edit: 2026-07-23 17:56:09
