I've just watched The Hostage on the UK's wonderful Talking Pictures TV channel. Marvellous to see the radio interference and TV detection van in action. But I had assumed this is a Hillman estate rather than a Commer as listed here? |

Not necessarily. The Commer badge was used on the base spec. “Commercial” estates at that time. |

So I know that this is the IMCDB and love it. But can anyone tell me what the freight plane seen in this film is? AI is way off and I'm beginning to think I must have invented descriptive features in my head! Anyway, it initially reminded me of a Bristol Freighter but I'm sure it had a triple tail and it looked as though the fuselage had been abruptly cut off; like a load door or section had been removed. It also had a domed glass canopy at the nose. |
