dsl ◊ 2014-08-10 14:06	Excellent film with no commentary, just music played over stunningly photographed sequences and images of this giant mining and production complex - it looks like something you'd find in the US or Aus outback rather than Lincolnshire. If Koyaanisqatsi had been filmed in Scunthorpe 20 years earlier, it would probably have looked like this. Some pictures Also recommended for anyone interested in industrial railway locos and shunters.

dsl ◊ 2014-08-10 18:59	Shadows of Progress DVD set for 1951-77 - am halfway through disc 3 at the moment. Intending then to move on to Land of Promise which covers 1930-50.
