Awesome film. One of my favorite action movies ever. Special mention to the henchman named Shrug, seen in the last pic in the second row there. He's the victim of the second-funniest "villain kills his own henchman" scene since the Joker shot Bob. -- Last edit: 2008-04-11 13:46:42 |

Not anymore. A movie trailer is supposed to make one want to see the movie. The one for this movie, however, had the completely opposite effect on me. After seeing it I swore never to watch this movie, and I still steadfastly refuse to do so. Blame the rooftop scene where El Mariachi couldn't possibly land on his feet as he's falling on his back, while two goons can't hit him with a hail of bullets fired from three yards away, but he hits them both with first shots while falling. Thanks, Mr. Rodriguez, but go insult somebody else. Meanwhile, I'll stick with El Mariachi. Bonusmobiles: |

^ it's over the top on purpose and it launched the Hollywood career of Salma Hayek the sequel with Jonny Depp is much much worse -- Last edit: 2024-03-20 19:53:49 |

I'm sure the scene works better in the context of the movie. Like most things taken out of context, this scene didn't work in whatever it was I saw it in back then, and it killed my interest in the movie stone dead. Maybe if I hadn't seen El Mariachi... |

I tell you the movie is over the top on purpose, if you accept that you might really enjoy it -- Last edit: 2024-03-20 20:11:46 |
