youtube video, artist page, Discogs page , Bandcamp page It looks as if there was a Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan in the 1970s which generated a public information film. In 2020, Gordon Chapman-Fox released a concept album “Interim Report, March 1979” under the name of Warrington-Runcorn New Town Development Plan as his "hymn and homage to the brutalist beauty of Cheshire’s designated new towns of Warrington and Runcorn." with the lead track "Gateway To The North" given this video accompaniment, presumably from the 70s promo film (which I haven't been able to find in any original form). Now he's due to release a second instalment in a couple of months called "People and Industry", so this could be the Next Big Thing. I started wondering if this was all a big spoof, but it all seems genuine despite its eccentricity, and the music is very pleasant. Because there is a genuine period film behind the project, some less common captures given pages. Others listed here as backgrounds. Not convinced it's 1979 footage - nothing seems newer than about 1973. Rejects: - Ford D-Series tipper, early plain Cortina Mk3 , - Renault 16, Austin 1300 Mk3 (with Viva HA beyond and another 1300 Mk3 in Black Tulip behind the skip) -- Last edit: 2021-08-03 11:28:30 |

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O1l7iXrACg Movie footage probably taken from "Runcorn New Town - The Leaving Of Liverpool" 1974 mini documentary? But who produced it is not shown. |

^ Well found. All the video footage is taken from that film. |

The 'documentary' looks to be a compilation of three different styles and the Liverpool section which introduces it seems overly long but it all looks right for the period. |
