The MV Saint-Germain was practically brand new in 1952, having been completed the year before in Denmark. She served as a ferry on the Channel until 1988, when she was retired and scrapped in India.

In fact, and I apologize, the 4th thumbnail shows the Mairie de Dunkerque building … not Calais.
