![]() “How do we make ‘die’ not dead?” I think Jerry Lewis was an extremely gifted performer, but he mostly chose to do material well beneath his abilities, like this movie. It's actually pretty good while he plays it straight, but sinks it when he reverts to his trademark childish buffoonery. Much of the movie was filmed in and around Lisbon, Portugal. Zenith color television with 'Space Command' remote control, circa-1968. I could not find an example of this exact console, but these show the same knob/button arrangement: Link to "audiokarma.org" https://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?media/1968-zenith-20y1c50.258/ I think that logo says "Lumiscript", a line of scientific instruments made by German company Hartmann & Braun. I could not find anything about the Lumiscript RS-102-E Minigraph, or what it might have been used to measure. |

Seeing how it's attached to Jerry's chest and has a handle indicating its portability, I figured it was a portable EKG. But I couldn't make out the second logo for the life of me (I got as a far 'Lumiscri'), so I looked at the scene again and there happens to be a close-up shot of the paper strip which plainly says Lumiscribe (and also Lumiscope New York - the manufacturer?). So, what we have here is a Lumiscribe Minigraph Portable EKG Machine, and a nearly identical sample (notice the color of the Paper Speed button) is lovingly exhibited by Augusta University here. |
