This short has raving reviews on IMDb—most soaked with nostalgia but, hey!… |

Its well acted and directed but completely predictable, gentle humour. The music used throughout the film was by Ron Grainer and has hints of the music from 'Steptoe and Son'. Surprisingly today, it had two awards at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1963 and even an Oscar nomination. It apparently had a lot of British TV screenings as test transmission for the introduction of BBC's colour service, along with BP's comedy 'Giuseppina' shot in Italy, which I also hope to add soon on IMCDb. |

Lots of background, blurred or smaller vehicles, a car in the workshop, another scrapped saloon and Fordson/Thames van. |

Picture on the workshop wall is a Citroen ID / DS, no? |

Interestingly, the car our man chooses in the scrap-yard is a Cowley, although the finished car is an Oxford. |

I just discovered this movie a few minutes ago, and I'm watching it on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2lVR59V1bo Plus, since I also found out it not only has an IMDb page, but an IMCDb page, I'm going to link the two of them. |
