![]() 1995 short movie starring the three Trailer Park Boys in their earliest incarnations! Mike Smith plays a man named Darren who steals shopping carts that shoppers toss down the side of a mountain and sells them after fixing them to buy food for his cats. This character was renamed Bubbles and the house (or upstairs apartment) changed to a shed. John Paul Tremblay and Robb Wells play a pair of mall security guards. |

I'm sceptical whether 1995 is the correct year for this by the vehicles visible. Is there more info? |

Vehicle IDs fixed. This short film is indeed from 1995, I just suck at knowing when certain model names started. -- Last edit: 2023-07-23 22:32:35 |

There's no way this is from 1995. The white truck listed as a '92 Chevrolet, is a '99+ Ford F-350 Super Duty... Same with the '94 Ford, it's an Expedition. The earliest ones didn't hit the streets until October of '96. |

All I could find for the year is 1995 on imdb. EDIT: Every result on google for "the cart boy short film" lists it as 1995; imdb, letterboxd, reddit, and Youtube. -- Last edit: 2023-07-23 22:54:12 |

Any chance we could list this without a year until we narrow it down more? |

don't know.. but the CR-V ( 1st model year, 1997 ) in the Reliant's page does not help the 1995 theory.... possible that 2 of the same title got mixed up ? -- Last edit: 2023-07-24 00:32:40 |

Since the newest car is estimated to be the 1999 Ford pickup, maybe we should list the year as 1999 instead of 1995? A brand-new truck in a shopping mall parking lot is quite common. |

2000 year possibly confirmed by a user on reddit. "Yes, Clattenburg tells us himself in the Oral History of TPB it was after the 1st Showcase meeting which took place in December of 1999. Showcase was hesitant about the Bubbles character in the outline in the first meeting in early December1999. So Clattenburg made Cart Boy to convince the suits that a character like Bubbles would be a good idea. Jeremy Hart the editor for the early seasons says in an audio podcast that Clattenburg prettended it was a 1995 short when he passed it into Showcase because he wanted them to think the character had more of a history to it other than Smith doing the character at parties in the 90s. They filmed it around Jan 2000." - Ashamed_Section8194 Link to "old.reddit.com" -- Last edit: 2023-07-24 18:01:14 |

I'm so confused at this point |

Let's just change the year from 1995 to 2000. |

Anyone agree with changing the year to 2000? |

I don't think this will be accepted. |

Yeah, no surprise there... only three background cars. Though I would like to point out that The Pirate Movie was approved with only two background cars. /movie_84504-The-Pirate-Movie.html |
