Funny fact about this movie: It was one of the select few American movies allowed in the Soviet Union in the 40s, because the authorities thought it is a good example of the struggle of the working class against greedy Capitalist regime. However, the Soviet people saw in this movie, that in America, even the poorest have cars (owning a car was a distant dream for most of the Soviet citizens), and this movie was quickly re-banned. |
