Very patronising film to explain that Britain has to work jolly hard making things but they have to be exported for the balance of payments, so there's nowt in the shops and it's all rationed anyway. And just to prove how complicated global trade is - - we send wheat to the US who sends cocoa to West Africa, who send bicycles to the UK. Or something like that. Brief glimpses: tractor (Fordson??) at 01-28 a strange farming thing at 01-35 - some sort of rotivator?? If AUG is number plate, it's early 1935. If identifiable, I'll give it a page - it looks self-powered not towed. traction engine at 01-52 - again a page if identifiable |
