EMD GP7 No. 1804 and No. 1810 - five stars for both. Was delivered to US Army as No. 1834 and 1821 in 1951. In 1960 went to the Alaska Railroad, rebuilt and renumbered in 1976. The two units were then bought by the McCloud River Railroad in 1989. Resold to Nevada Industrial Switch by late spring 1993. In this movie, both locomotives painted in NIS livery, but were lettered as "Grand Continental". So to speak, cars paint sceme was based on Nevada Industrial Switch. The following year No. 1804 returned to the screen still sporting its NIS livery, but with the "Grand Continental" name removed, in "Lethal Weapon 4". In 2002, No 1804 was bought by Gold Coast Railroad Museum. http://gcrm.org/images/Locomotives/ACL1804GC-4s.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XelYtEGDHdI No. 1810 in 1999 was sold to Oregon Pacific Railroad and made its last major run on the East Portland Branch during the June 2007. Sold to a private grain railroad in southwest Kansas using reporting marks SFGX. http://www.oregonpacificrr.com/images/OPR1810x0044.JPG -- Last edit: 2014-06-25 16:32:00 |
