![]() When was the first metallic tone available for the Typ31? Any better shot, that the rims are better visible? Can they be the 1969+ ones? |

Don't know if useful, but I have a better shot of the rear. Only this, unfortunately: ![]() |

Hmm, can we say, that 1969 is rather plausible than 1964? Due the colourm which was definitly not available in 1964 and the rims, which may look as the late ones? |

I can't say anything about the colour, but it seems a normal-for-UK mid-60s 1500 S, much like this one - /vehicle_963723-Volkswagen-1500-S-Typ-31-1964.html . Away from home so can't check dates, but I think 1500 S quietly disappeared here about 1966-67 after the 1600 TL arrived - it was never a big seller and no-one really noticed the saloon version. |

L50K Neptune Blue? Available 1967-78 (1978 Typ 2 only), it seems |

Are your sure about the Typ2? http://www.bullimuseum.eu/typ-26-pritsche-mit-kran.html |

Yes pretty sure, for 1978 it seems to be available only for the Typ 2. 1967-77 listed as VW in general. But that's in the wrong end of the time span anyway, isn't it? More important, could it be that colour? |

Hmm, for me it looks still metallic-ish - but I don't know, if there was any metallic, especially blue metallic available for the Shortnose? |

Can now give details for the notchback in UK: - Aug 61 - plain 1500 arrived in limited numbers - Aug 63 - replaced by new N and S versions - July 65 - N and S stopped - Aug 65 - new A version arrived as update of N to special order only - lasted to July 66, when replaced by 1600 A in Germany. However 1600 A was not sold in UK nor any other 1600 notchback version, so final possible UK notchback date was July 66. |
