I think I missed this one. The trunk opened backwards on the Skyliner for practical reasons with respect to the direction that the roof moved during the conversion process of hardtop to convertible. I just can't tell now if the trunk lid curves downwards as on the standard convertible Sunliner, or if it stays relatively flat as on the retractable Skyliner. You decide. Ok, got it. This car HAS a fuel filler door on the driver's side, instead of behind the license plate as on other production 57 Ford cars. This was done in order to accommodate the operation of the "disappearing" hardtop roof. This door is quite evident in this view along a single axis which includes the windshield "A" pillar, although these items are actually several feet apart on the car. (See the second link in the previous post.) *51A* -- Last edit: 2008-12-18 14:41:32 |
