Not a Courier (which was Fiesta-based) but a 1986+ Escort 55

Not a Courier, this is an Escort Van. Escort Vans were built at Halewood but may have also been built at other plants.

EDIT: Took too long writing that. 1991+ MKV by the location of the fuel filler.

Ah yes, and also due to the lack of a second window behind the doors.

Not found the info for the Escort Vans yet (I can find lots of references to them being built at Halewood but no mention of other factories or anything saying 'built only at Halewood') but...

http://archive.commercialmotor.com/article/6th-june-1991/19/courier-ready-for-action

Quote All Fiesta Couriers will be built in the UK at Ford's Dagenham plant: more than 75% of the 40,000 units scheduled to be produced annually are destined for export.

Later article implies to the same point: http://archive.commercialmotor.com/article/14th-june-2001/28/ford-courier-5018-tddi

Quote If the Courier's past is a familiar story, its future is less predictable. With old-model Fiesta production at Dagenham due to end soon, only Ford bosses know what the future holds for the light van sector, and they're not saying. There may well be a product based on the next-generation Fiesta car, due this autumn, or it may be that the entire sector will be left to the Turkish-built "Transit City".

None of our current Couriers are listed as British made.
