Top Gear's most spectacular and costly challenge to date involved turning this innocent looking Reliant Robin into a fully working space shuttle. Disappointingly, despite all of the time, work and expenses involved, the experiment failed as an integral part refused to disconnect, causing the car to plummet down to the ground in a delicious explosion. -- Last edit: 2011-06-27 02:07:10 (G-MANN) |

Isn't that a Rialto with the re-designed nose, and not a Robin? |

A different Reliant Rialto is actually used for the opening scene of this whole segment (notice it doesn't have foglights and the space shuttle one does): The vehicle details for K230 WNB are: Date of Liability 01 03 2012 Date of First Registration 01 08 1992 Year of Manufacture 1992 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 848CC Fuel Type Petrol Vehicle Status SORN Not Due Vehicle Colour RED Vehicle Registration Number K230WNB Make/Model RELIANT ROBIN LX -- Last edit: 2012-07-13 02:37:14 |

LOL! A fellow ZX-owner I knew used to drive around in a blue Rialto just for fun! |

The rocket car is not the same as the red one. The rocket has fog lamps whereas the red one doesn't. |

That explains why it was taxed up to March this year (this episode is from 2007) it wasn't destroyed after all. -- Last edit: 2012-07-13 02:19:44 |

OK, I've changed it so this page is now for the one used for the rocket. What is the year range of this version of the Rialto? |
