Type 181 was also sold to the public, as the Kurierwagen in West Germany, the Trekker (RHD Type 182) in the United Kingdom, the Thing in the United States (1973–74), the Safari in Mexico and South America, and Pescaccia in Italy. |

According to IMDb, the movie was filmed in France - so it had to be imported and logically it would be either a Kurierwagen or a Pescaccia...yes, no, maybe |

No. I don't think 'Kurierwagen' neither 'Pescaccia' (?!) could be used in France, even in Alsace where the movie was shot. By the way, should we have it 'convertible' or 'off road'? |

According to Wikipedia - The Volkswagen Type 181 was a two-wheel drive, four-door, convertible, off-road, manufactured by Volkswagen from 1968 to 1983. @DidierF - What should we call it then?? |

"Kurierwagen" was the military name, the private version -as this here- was sold just as 181. |
