Not made for EU as the first Probes were directly imported from the US. Really all they did was add a transmission oil cooler, yellow indicators to the fog and tail lights, remove the CHMSL, disable the DRLs and add a tow hitch.

Erst 1994 gab es eine reinrassige EU-version des Probe. :D

But so many modifications... doesnt that make it "Made for EU"? I mean, the Chrysler Stratus was also built in the US and exported to Germany, but we list it as Made for EU because Chrysler exported it themself.

Anyway, i took all informations from that entry: /vehicle_12732-Ford-Probe-1990.html

I would agree with Purzel89. A standardised package of modifications, done by the manufacturer before sale, is enough to count as "made for EU".

Yes, and for some early US-specs French cars it was also done that way, if I remember well.

You forgot the custom rear some of them had. The weird thing about many US vehicles that were made for EU is that many of them would be varying in trim and certain light organizations (for example, the 1998 Chevy Blazer was available in both US and EU configurations in Germany (US spec trucks had the headlights changed and a crude foglight added.) Some first gen EU Probes had the typical US rear and others had black plate holders in the rear (usually it would be part of the rear light assembly as seen here: US version: /vehicle_356555-Ford-Probe-1989.html and Eu version: http://pics.imcdb.org/0is329/pdvd048yb3.8413.jpg . Some also had repeaters and others didn't for unknown reasons.

Another lemon from Ford that disappeared without trace.

Same goes with the plate holder of the EU-Stratus. German models had a separate new plate holder to fit the european plate size. Swiss models had the plate mounted on the car body. I know that because i owned a german and a swiss Chrysler Stratus. But personally i like the swiss version more, because it looks less a boil than this separate plate holder.

For comparison (look at how plate holder is mounted):

"Rest of Europe" model
swiss model
A swiss car with a german plate - because its my car :D
