Fiat(?) truck probably deserves a page - is it a TV broadcast vehicle?? |

I think it's for repairing overhead wires for trams or trolleybuses. |

is this for the larger truck on the left or the smaller truck on the right? The smaller truck on the right is an Opel Blitz. |

For the smaller on right. Big on left has own page now. |

1965-75 Opel Blitz B indeed. If it's possible with the Swiss system, is there a tool like the DVLA to get more details from the plate? -- Last edit: 2015-06-18 02:28:27 |

As Bedford-based Blitz [CF] started in 73, did they overlap for a couple of years?? |

• Here an Opel Blitz B which was first registered in March 1974 (see its data file in the RDW site); • Here a (said to be) December 1972 brochure about the Bedford Blitz, followed by a few others (1973 to 1981 ones); The vauxpedianet site seems therefore to be wrong when saying that the Bedford Blitz replace directly the Opel model in 1973. I didn't find (for now?) any Opel document showing both of them side by side, but they apparently "lived together" for at least 2 years... In a next episode, I'll try to understand why Opel gave also the Bedford Blitz name to "heavier" models... _____ Off-topic: I really like the humbleness of some British ads ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-06-22 02:24:18 |
