Macklin's car - registration was NOJ 393, chassis SPL 226B. Originally a 1953 A-H development car which finished 13th in 1953 Le Mans, then upgraded as the 100 S prototype for 1955 - Link to "www.autoblog.com"

This vehicle was the one that the No. 20 300 SLR driven by Bouillin had clipped, sending Bouillin over the barrier and into the crowd.

This car still exists! It was badly damaged as a result of the Mercedes ramping off it's rear and impounded afterwards as a result but was fully repaired. The photo is from a 2011 article on the car being put up for auction where it was expected to sell for a minimum of 500'000 British pounds. It had not been restored other than it's post-LeMans crash repairs, though more recent photos suggest the car has been repainted.
