Dump truck made on a chassis-cab model of the 1947-55 Advance-Design truck line, with the 1947-53 grille and 2-piece windshield indeed. Light- and medium-duty bumper and hood, meaning a ½-ton 3100, a ¾-ton 3600 or a 1-ton 3800 model. The wheel rims and the (optional) dual rear wheels indicate a 1-ton model. The dual rear wheels option became available in 1948 only (it is not mentioned in the 1947 specs sheet), so a 1948-53 model. There is apparently no other detail to give a smaller model year range. Depending on the model year, it could be a Thriftmaster (1947-48) or a 3800 (1949+). But whatever the name it has, as 1-ton chassis-cab (there was no factory made dump models), it has the 3803 Chevrolet code. -- Last edit: 2015-05-06 22:40:56 |
