I think this is 4 door - introduced Oct 52, only 45-50 made http://www.ac2litre.com/production.html - has shorter door and no external hinges on B pillar |

Where is the rear door handle, which should be as noticeable as the front one, and where is the vertical dividing strip which makes the four door car look like a six-light saloon? I had already checked this out and believe the car is a 2-door saloon. Link to "en.wikipedia.org" Note the external hinges on the B-pillar are still there, but the position of the top one is higher. -- Last edit: 2014-12-09 21:29:32 |

OK accepted. I was looking at pics of 2 door with big hinges - eg http://www.simoncars.co.uk/ac/slides/AC%202-litre%20rear.jpg , but seems there were also later much smaller hinges - eg http://www.simoncars.co.uk/ac/slides/s_AC%202-litre%20side.jpg . Chrome windscreen = Sept 48 onwards. Seeing that 4 door pic, I can understand why they only sold 50 max. |

A friend of the family had a two-door version in the early sixties. Even that wasn't the most elegant of cars, particularly from the back view. Thank you for taking on board my argument, I generally have a good think before I make an identification. |
