I believe this is rather an earlier Scania-Vabis L 60, than a later L 70, because it looks exactly the same as one pictured in a book I have. It's called "Kampen mot elden", Bernces Förlags AB, 1951 (Eng: Struggle against the fire), a book in two volumes 532 + 464 pages which covers almost everything that relates to fire. The L 60 series was introduced in 1949 and replaced by L 70 in late 1954. It clearly has a Magirus ladder, and not the competitive Åsbrink shown here http://www.historical-fire-engines.com/img-scania-vabis-l65-1059.htm (please note: not the raised build around the rear wheel arches). This already listed L 60 series Scania has a Magirus ladder /vehicle_149728-Scania-Vabis-L-64-1951.html . |
