Filmed in Czech Rep. all cars are identical, all are probably brand new - so it is a 2005 Octavia Tour (Tour as a part of model name). BTW. Antoine what with car from the first scene (Prague) I think, it was Octavia too. -- Last edit: 2007-03-06 15:35:29 |

What is the difference with the normal Octavia? What happened with it? (or in what view is it?) |

1. Since 2005 all Octavias of first generation (which are still produced) are named 'Octavia Tour' to distinguish them from a new model. The differences in body... mainly the small label at the back, I guess. But because we can see a couple of identical Octavias, which actually aren't a real police cars I think, they are new and prepared for movie (even if is sponsored by Ford). 2. The car is in the sequence before the title song, in the first scene. The guy, arrived in it and later after short conversation has been killed by Bond. |

Perhaps whoever was in charge of cars for the film thought that Fords would be too expensive for the Montenegran police. One odd thing about the Skodas is that they have flashing lights behind the radiator grills but the light bars on top don't appear to be working. |

It is not very visible, if you say that it is a Skoda I believe you: 00:00:40 |

But I won't say this... Indeed hard to tell with this pic, the car is a bit similar also to Passat or Mondeo. On the other hand the Montenegro in this movie looks like a very rich country. |

Yeah, that's the problem of filming in one of the swankiest towns in the Czech Republic. |

after much enlargement I believe it is a Skoda but a Superb. |

The car in the front might be a 2005 Tour, but the other two Octavias in the back seems to be pre-2001-models, before the facelift that came with the 2001-model, where the lights/grill was changes a bit |

Filmed in Czech Republic, but I think in the movie it was supposed to be some fictional Eastern European country. |

It was supposed to be Montenegro, not fictional at all. |

If they really are brand new, they are 2006 models - principal photography of Bond films always starts very early in the release year of the film. |

False, several examples contradict this statement; Licence to Kill (1989) was filmed in July - November 1988, principal photography of Moonraker (1979) began in August 1978 and A View to a Kill (1985) was filmed in June - October 1984. Traditionally, several Bond films were released during summer. However, it's indeed true that all films since GoldenEye (1995) have had a late-year release, enabling early release-year shoot. |
