No. Even me, without any serious knowledge about cars from Down Under, can see, that ever detail (grille, bumper, front bonnet etc.) is different. |

Not the same Holden model, but the same taxi livery (red, white roof, black wings) as this - /vehicle_637019-Holden-Special-EJ-1962.html |

It's a little bit puzzled car. Most elements match with Special trim indeed, however this car has black windshield sealing and no silver slat under side windows. Could it be some Taxi package? -- Last edit: 2014-01-10 14:23:38 |

The taxi in the above picture with the T-007 plates on it, is a 1966 HR holden special with a Taxi pack that also consisted of rubber floor mats through out and rubber only around the windscreen (taxi's made for rural areas also were fitted with what was called "a country pack") which were extra springs or dampers added to the rear suspention to smooth out the ride even more than normal I know how it felt to ride in them with and without the country pack they work well. Holden assembeled the Taxi's on the same line as every other car being built. The other holden is an HD also a special but a 1965 model which has a lot of differences the chrome around the windsheild was taken away after the HD because many taxi drivers complained that with an external sunvisers/hoods that the chrome was hard to get at and even hard to clean And the red EJ holden is also a spescial model with lots of the same basic fit out to. and the yellow and white car is a ford zefyer of around 1960-62. I have studied holdens for over 40 years now and going all the way back to the 1860's when it all started in Adelaide south Australia (they made so much more than just cars) e.g side cars for the early harly davidson motorbikes. |
