The blue truck on the right is a White 3000 with a Towner refuse truck body, as noted by www.classicrefusetrucks.com . According to them, that makes it a very rare vehicle: "Towner was a tractor implement maker that burst on to the refuse truck market in 1955 with what was probably the first full-pack front loader in the industry. ... However, despite an advanced design for 1955, the Towner front loader turned out to be very short-lived. They dropped out of the refuse body market almost as fast as they arrived, and eventually closed up shop altogether. As a result, scant little evidence survives today of the groundbreaking Towner front loader." It is known that "a Towner truck ... had been sold to Universal Studios, one of the biggest producers of motion pictures and television shows in the world. Ostensibly, this truck was used for refuse collection on their massive studio lot." http://www.classicrefusetrucks.com/news.html |

The angle is perhaps misleading? This is a 353, note the spare under the bed. |

As usual, the "2½-ton 6x6" part of the complement is a redundancy, as all CCKWs were 2½-ton 6x6 trucks. G-508 in US army nomenclature. |
