Holden Ute then? |

Ute wasn't the nameplate used. At the time, it was either Belmont or Kingswood. |

really? we have many older ones listed under that name... edit: indeed, according to Wikipedia the Ute name only started in 2000 ! What to do with all the older ones then? Just removing the "Ute" name and list them without model name? -- Last edit: 2013-10-17 17:04:35 |

Ute became a stand-alone nameplate in 2000. From 1990-2000, it was called "Commodore Ute". Prior to 1990 there was no separate nameplate. I suppose you could classify it just as "Ute" but technically that would be incorrect... -- Last edit: 2013-10-18 01:24:49 |

I don't have the local knowledge to go from, do but think we've got a workable system for pre-90 Utes as just Holden Ute. If we know the model/trim, it gets entered as Kingswood Ute (or whatever), if not it is just Ute - the alternative is Holden Unknown Ute (which seems too unwieldy). It's also slightly complicated for the very early [50-2106] Utes where we don't use FX as a model name but put it in extra info as 'FX' (I'm not sure why, but it's the same system as used for the equivalent [48-215] saloons which are entered without a model name). .... means we have 4 current Utes which probably should be renamed Commodore Ute. But otherwise I think we should stick with what we've got as the most practical solution. And incidentally we could also agree we stick to just Ute - I've switched a couple of orphans which had been entered as Utility. |

Or we could list them as 'Ute' with the quotes, as a nickname |

Just "Utility". The Belmont name was no longer used on utes by this point. -- Last edit: 2014-03-10 01:03:41 |
