Could this be a 2011+ Sierra 2500HD Denali? Seems to have the optional 20" forged polished aluminum wheels ($850 option). -- Last edit: 2012-09-02 20:51:05 |

The 1500 Denali could be called four-wheel drive, as well. They just lack low range and a driver selectable lock. The newer ones don’t have a center geared differential but rather a center multi-disc electromagnetic clutch pack that transfers torque to the front wheels. GM used to call all its 4x4 systems All-Wheel Drive, from about 1959 to about 1982. AWD would show up in advertisements and owner’s manuals along with 4WD. From 1983-ish onward they were referred to as Four-Wheel Drive. I call them all "All-Wheel Drive" most of the time as its easy to distinguish it from Front-Wheel Drive and Rear-Wheel Drive. That’s probably why GM use the term "All-Wheel Drive", because they also used "Rear-Wheel Drive" instead of saying Two-Wheel Drive. It was easier for the reader to follow along. -- Last edit: 2013-10-20 02:11:20 |
