Yeah, I saw that last night. ::) When 'Buzz' Aldrin mentioned that he did once owned a 1970 Saab Sonnett, there was a blooper on the display shows the previous generation SAAB Sonnett II or V4 instead of Sonnett III when he mentioned the Saab Sonnet |

It will probably be an epic fail. I will always prefer the original. There seems to be only one in the group (Tanner Foust) that actually has driving skills, being a stunt car driver and genuinely likes cars. As for the other two, I don’t know much about them. One is an actor, and one has a dimly lit background. |

I was reasonably impressed by it. PROS: *The series' trademark direction and editing are present (loved the Murcielago bull fight). *The upcoming challenges look like they'll be pretty entertaining. *The hosts don't try to completely ape the hosts of the British version. *The test track appears to be an actual track, not two stacks of tires on a runway. CONS: *Too much videotape in show segments....it's intercut with the film and the change in frames-per-second is very noticeable. Makes it look cheap. *The interplay between the hosts seems a bit forced, almost like they barely even know each other, but they're pretending to. *Still no indication on whether or not they'll ever be caustic towards any of the cars they review for fear of pissing off manufacturers, a concern that Jay Leno has voiced about a potential American version of the show. -- Last edit: 2010-11-22 22:10:19 |

i know its early yet but so far i think its quite lame. the stunts are bogus and the editing is overdone. and the three stooges lack in acting. |
◊ 2011-02-22 06:08 |
This is pretty much crap compared to the original. |
◊ 2011-02-27 14:16 |
@ Dragonboy: are you going to add the remaining episodes? I don't want to do them myself, I ask you this just for curiosity |
◊ 2011-04-22 05:01 |
Much better than the UK verson |
◊ 2011-04-22 08:14 |
I swear you have got to be the only person in the world to think this. I hate this version, there is noting original about it. They take the same skits and tests from the UK version and perform them with US cars. The US guys are not funny at all either |
◊ 2011-04-24 10:38 |
I like it becuase they don't make fun of american cars |
◊ 2011-06-24 20:53 |
I agree 100% probably because i hate Jeremy Clarkson so much lol. |

Season 2 returns soon, i will resume doing this show after slacking off on the second half of the last season. |

Did anyone else here see last night's episode? They put a CTS-V Sport Wagon against a Ferrari California in a drag race. I'm not going to spoil the results, though. |

I like the show very much. Sure, it's lacking compared to the British version, but as a person who buys cars on the cheap and gets dirty putting them together, I can appreciate lots of the challenges. The dialogue is pretty funny to hear, too. It's worth the time if you get the History Channel. |
◊ 2011-11-02 02:04 |
It's okay. It seems a bit less staged than the original but it doesn't really work as well as entertainment. It's only really of interest to car guys and the fact that the original is not like that is the main strength. |

1st series episodes appearing now on BBC3 in UK. Absolutely slavish copying of UK format and very stilted dialogue, too much whooping, cheering and faked excitement in the first 2 episodes. Hope they relax/break free a bit and start being themselves. |

Just watched the limo episode. During the obstacle course challenge, a number of older episode cars also returned (along with the Rabbit truck, which was already posted in the comments of it's page). In order of position on course: Dodge Aries K: /vehicle_422002-Dodge-Aries-K-1987.html Mercedes 190E: /vehicle_428249-Mercedes-Benz-190-E-W201-1989.html Ford Festiva: /vehicle_428248-Ford-Festiva-1990.html Ford Bronco: /vehicle_426172-Ford-Bronco-1994.html Ford Crown Victoria: /vehicle_428250-Ford-Crown-Victoria-1994.html Anyone get pics of those, so they could be added to each car's comments? |

Any plans to do that other new show that airs after this, 'Counting Cars'? I've watched all 5 episodes so far, great show. |

Alright, this week's episode: Land Rover Range Rover Sport Supercharged, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Cadillac Escalade ESV Lingenfelter Also, after the end, a preview for next week's episode: Nissan 300ZX [Z32], Subaru Legacy wagon, 1998+ Chevrolet Blazer. Just a little heads up. |
◊ 2013-03-22 00:21 |
Someone add the 2012 Land Rover HSE, the 2012 Cadillac Escalade ESV Platinum Lingenfelter, and the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 from "Mammoth Mountain"! (: |
◊ 2013-03-22 01:05 |
1. It was a Range Rover Sport Supercharged, not an HSE. 2. The Escalade is not a Platinum, which has a different grille and bumper. 3. The SRT8 was not a '14. 2014s have different headlights and slightly different grille. 4. Give them time, the page will be updated soon. |

@Robino please fill in series and episode (eg 3.05) and class of the vehicles. I don't think dragonboy is still doing this so these can be validated. |
◊ 2015-05-25 14:18 |
I did fill in the series/episode |
◊ 2015-05-27 11:12 |
Robino, your new pics seem taken from the web/still photos. Please do your own screens if you want to keep working on this series. btw, has dragonboy really stopped doing this? I've noticed he's not very active on the site anymore though. |
◊ 2016-04-13 01:18 |
The boys boys will be returning April 26th for another series. And yes as have i. Cant believe its been a year since i last contributed to the site. I was in a different place in my life and just lost the motivation to watch things for cars and go through the motions of sorting and adding to the site, but now im back and hopefully slowly, normal services can resume. |

RIP Top Gear USA not sure if I should be happy or sad. Although this show is better than the 2016 one, but wouldn't see anymore ruin of old/classic rare vehicles on those crazy challenges. |
