![]() I think it should be listed as german origin, made for USA. Europe will get this car in the beginning of 2013 as the new Ford Kuga and the US version is exactly the same car. |

@Andre Malraux: Is it a problem that he likes new cars? |

m.pfaffeneder likes not only just new cars - he likes new Fords! This is a real facepalm-reason. |

I think the Titanium Escape is only available with the 240 hp 2.0 Ecoboost engine. |

Seems to be the first 2013 model Escape on the site. Some of the engineering was done here in the U.S. as well as Germany. Its new four-wheel drive system was developed here, if I’m not mistaken. Speaking of which, the Escape showcases Ford’s new automatic Intelligent torque biasing four-wheel drive system. The new 4x4 system can bias torque, sending up to 100 percent of the engine’s torque to any one of the four wheels if needed, and can transfer torque to correct under- or over-steer. It uses a one-speed single range transfer unit with center multi-disc differential, and a longitudinal propeller-shaft connecting the front transaxle and rear axle. The new computer control system and software are also proprietary. A large amount of software programming went into the system which is where it gets the "intelligent" designation from. The system was tested at the Anza-Borrego desert, here in the U.S., and the mountains of New Zealand. The little Escape was forced to perform many of the off road tests the Ford F-150 SVT Raptor was put through during its development. Four-wheel electronic traction control (engine and ABS) is standard to simulate front and rear differential locks. Torque Vectoring Control (ABS) is also included. |

@Nightrider: Good suggestion, but I'd almost rather prefer "cl82 crimson" because it alludes to this great band: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NWAbNIMsveI -- Last edit: 2012-08-07 05:31:06 |
