Just came back from seeing the movie at the theater. There was also a 1974+ Matador in the same scene. |

That Streethawk lightbar is anachronistic for the time period. |

I loved this movie, but I laughed at the way this scene was done. A 747's minimum takeoff speed is about 185 mph. There is no way in hell those big heavy Matadors could keep up with a 747 on takeoff roll. If the plane was just taxiing out they could, but once it was on the runway and powering its engines for takeoff, it would leave anything short of a supercar (by 1980 standards) in the dust in ten seconds. Plus, there would have been enough engine thrust to launch those cars like a piece of paper. |

In real life, they just got on the plane and took off without being chased by Reed and Maloy lookalikes, and this addtion really feels kinda wrong. Feels way too holloywood, with the cars keeping up with the 747 way too long, and the cars not being destoyed by jet wash. |

Did Iranian police/airport police use those American cars in real life? |
