![]() ![]() 1958 Canadian short film about Dr. Frederick Banting and his assistant Charles Best during their titular quest at the University of Toronto to create a medicine to help diabetics live easier lives, which led to their discovery of insulin! Dr. Banting won a Nobel Prize in 1923 for his discovery and was given lifetime funding by the Canadian government. He also famously did not patent insulin and sold the rights to it to the University for $1, famously stating "Insulin does not belong to me, it belongs to the world." A trio of cute test dogs, the second of which is depicted as the first successful use of insulin! Nothing is shown or stated to have happened to the other dogs. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
