and color "graphitgrau" any other non met grey would be 230/250 SL, too cause 280SL in grey would have been metalic http://www.pagode.info/23.htm -- Last edit: 2012-05-21 13:54:03 |

Not nessecary, if one can trust this page http://www.sl113.org/wiki/DataCard/PaintCodes . I'm interested in particularly the grey Mercedes colours as in my care is a 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SE [W108.014] painted in 124G (Arabian grey by Glasurit). That is a car that still has its original paint which makes it rather unusual as many considered grey colours dull and had it resprayed. The page lists several grey nuances like 124G (Arabian grey by Glasurit, available on W113 the years 1963-71), 140H (Light grey by Herberts, 1963-65), 173G (Anthracite grey by Glasurit, 1968-71) and 190G (Graphite grey by Glasurit, 1963-65). A close colour is also the metallic 172G (Anthracite grey by Glasurit, 1963-71). My point is that you can't in this case see, when looking at a grey paint, what year the car is from. And with great difficulty what paint is being used, as my 124G looks much darker than on the W113 home page. This is very important concerning the [W113] as that was to a great extent used by people who were rather well off, and quite often had the car regularly resprayed. A friend of mine has a 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250SE/C which originaly was used by one of the Swedish royals, and they had it resprayed once a year. Something that made it rather difficult when he had an accident and had to consider an almost centimetre layer of paint... -- Last edit: 2012-10-25 10:38:07 |
