In the film clip it's possible to see that it has the bigger rear lights introduced in 1972, but still not the simplified side pressings introduced in 1975. It's very unlikely a RS as that was a competition model only (I believe RS is either German for Renn Sport = Motor Sport, or Rallye Sport if made in Britain), but perhaps a RS 2600 which was the street version equivalent. Here're some links http://www.classiccar.4mg.com/FordCapriMk1.htm Link to "dark-cars.over-blog.com" and possibly http://www.fordcapri.nu/page_1231267436141.html . Edit: Might even be a RS 3100 http://www.capripower.co.uk/boardold/lofiversion/index.php?t1160.html . -- Last edit: 2014-02-16 18:46:46 |

I don't think RS 3100 was available with LHD (but unable to confirm). However 72+ RS 2600 seems a good match - eg /vehicle_4742-Ford-Capri-RS-2600-1972.html . |

Update: confirmed that no RS3100 was made with LHD. Production was 250, all made November 73 and intended for UK only, although very slow sales so 50 of that 250 were sent to Australia in June/July 74 to clear them. All RS3100 had ducktail rear spoiler - not fitted here, so confirming this as RS2600.
