More than likely a 1948-54 3100, but those thumbnails don't do much for me.

This truck is a 1954 GMC Pickup. It was my father's truck at the time of the filming

(Main pic // vilero's 1st thumb - Both with extra light)

Ok for a 1954 model when looking at vilero's 1st picture. But the main picture is a 1951-53 one only (vent windows, as said by Commander 57) with a 2-piece windshield.
There is at least 2 different trucks on this page. 1st clue: no mirrors on the truck of the main pic :D

1951 GMC Pickup?

My mistake! I focused on the windshield difference and didn't pay attention to another huge and essential difference between the 2 pickups: this one has a Chevrolet hood emblem...

With what can be seen on the main pic and in the 2nd thumb of vilero (which is the same truck, I think: 1947-53 taillights and angled bed rails), it seems to be the shortest (116"/2.95 m wheelbase // 6.5 ft./1.98 m bed) truck Chevrolet proposed at that time: the 3100 pickup, which means a 3104 model in Chevrolet inner language.
The 1951+ vent windows were already pointed, but not the 1952+ push button door handle. And when looking at the side hood emblem, but now with a "Chevrolet-oriented" approach, it is a 1953 one:
