According to the Dammann book, I found the combination of 1962 Chevrolet C-10 Stepside with 127-inch wheel base version as this example shown.

Wonderful close-up shot of a 1962 only grille in the main picture, and nice 1964-66 grille in the 2nd thumb of night cub :)
(By the way: the pickup is broken in episode 1.17, but still being driven in 1.18? Is episode 1.17 a memory or a flashback sequence?)

I seriously doubt that the Dammann book specially mention "our" truck, and as the C-20 has the same 127"/3.23 m wheelbase, the same "8 ft." (98"/2.49 m) bed and the same 206"/5.23 m overall length, it's certainly better to take night cub's 4th thumb as clue ;)

Does it look more like a 10 or like a 20? Personally, I see what seems to be a 10 in this picture. Which would mean, as "long" C-10 pickup with a Stepside bed option, a C1504 Chevrolet code.

If sure of the "long" C-10 model:
⇒ 1962 Chevrolet C-10 Stepside [C1504]

Else:
⇒ 1962 Chevrolet C-series Stepside?

First of all, I can confirm from rewatching the scenes in better resolution that the lettering on the truck's fender in the FLASHBACK scene from # 1.18 clearly says "10" (not "20").

So from this discussion, I gather that these were different picture cars although they are supposed to be the same truck in the storyline:
- 1962 Chevrolet C-10 in the series première # 1.01 (main screen capture);
- 1964-66 Chevrolet C-20 in the flashback scenes from # 1.18 (due to the different grille and headlights)

But what is the junk Chevy in # 1.17? Is this the 1964-66 grille again? Most likely a third picture car since the scene from # 1.17 was shot approx. 10 days earlier than the flashback segment from # 1.18 (where the picture car was still intact).
Any ideas on the specifications (model year) of the junk Chevy? Thanks a lot!

The junk Chevy used in 1.17 is a 1964-1966 model. You can tell by the first thumbnail which shows a regular A-pillar and triangular vent window. 1960-1963 models have wraparound windshields, with reverse slant A-pillars, and vent windows that almost are rectangular (kind of shaped like the state of Vermont)
