Today I saw a truck on the Autobahn, its trailer had exactly this GE-logo on the side, nothing else. ![]() |

Probably lighting products. I think GE bought the Hungarian lightbulb industry after the end of communist rule. ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-10-06 23:24:48 |

P.S. Back to the topic car. @rljuna2: in Tofino, the Canadian surfer's village, you still can spot some T2's, mostly Westfalias, as appropriate surfer-mobiles. In combination with high priced sunglasses and greasy, unwashed long hair, it belongs to a complete and correct outfit. Sure, more T3's, but some T2's are still alive. Within one day I saw a 1970-version, a 1971, a 1972 and a 1973+. So I could explain my wife the exact details - but she wasn't really interested. Unfortunately the surfer-freaks are no car-enthusiasts ![]() |

@carcrasher: mmmhh, it belongs to that, too. Too big, way too much water- and electricity-consumption. Very backwarded technology, compared with European machines. One of the reasons, why in the USA nad Canada the average engergy- and water-consumption per head is double time as much higher than in Europe. |

General Electric do make appliance such as refrigrators, stovetop, and kitchen blenders as such. It is not only for the lighting divison, but other things as well. It is really a big global corporation. ![]() http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Electric -- Last edit: 2011-10-07 14:20:50 |

They also make medical equipment and other specific stuff that can be found here in Europe. Indeed that make is rather unknown on the retail consumer market. |

GE also has hands in railways, aviation, and is one of the world's largest producers of wind turbines. |

Since a few days/weeks GE is coming up with a PR-campaign over here. Never noticed that before. http://www.werbesprech.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/general-electric.jpg Translated "We are the CO in COnscience". Hmmm... |
