I think the Cee´d is a good car. You don´t hear any complaints. And the styling is not bad, either. |
◊ 2011-08-09 22:54 |
The styling is the best example for dull and faceless. It's a terrible mixture of a lot of elements from different brands - but definetely nothing unique. Just a cobbled patchwork-something. |
◊ 2011-08-09 22:56 |
Yes but nearly everything is like that these days. Apart from the ones where the designer is a raving lunatic. -- Last edit: 2011-08-09 22:57:27 |

I think DynaMike knows best: Über Geschmack soll man nicht streiten - "De gustibus non est disputandum" |
◊ 2011-08-09 23:06 |
I would agree with that (if google translate is accurate). Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. At the end of the day as far as I am concerned the most important thing is how it goes. If the performance is acceptable, the comfort good and the reliability decent then I'm happy with it. It's only if it looks as bad as a Nissan Juke when I would be put off something by it's styling. |

Agree'd (as long as it's not the 3 door with the dungeon-like rear seating). -- Last edit: 2011-08-09 23:14:33 |

Of yeah, because the SAAB 9000 has a very unique design. It doesn't look at all like a Lancia Thema or a Fiat Croma. ![]() |
◊ 2011-08-10 00:50 |
The 9000 has a typical square 80s design, not as stylish as the 900, but it's more about pedigree than looks. ![]() -- Last edit: 2011-08-10 00:54:53 |

I don't know why everybody is picking on the Juke, it's a cool, mean and unique design. If I was to buy a brandnew car by it's design only I would pick the Juke any day! But I'd guess it's hip these days to think that the Juke is ugly *yawn*. |
◊ 2011-08-10 01:15 |
It's also hip these days to think the world is round, that gravity makes things drop to the ground, that lead water pipes are dangerous, and that human sacrifices do not guarantee good weather. |
◊ 2011-08-10 01:17 |
It's probably hip to like the Juke. Unfortunately I'm too busy still living in the nineties (or on a bad day the eighties) to notice. |
◊ 2011-08-10 01:26 |
Dare to be different. |
◊ 2011-08-10 08:38 |
But we still have "Taste- Lack of taste" dichotomy. |
◊ 2011-08-10 10:42 |
I like the Juke, too. The design is not normal, but it looks quite funny and here in Germany it´s quite popular actally. You can order it with a lovely 190 HP engine. But I don´t want to have one, as it hasn´t got much room in the back and in the boot. Furthermore the suspension is quite harsh. |
◊ 2011-08-10 14:41 |
Should translate for the Nissan Joke as "Its disgustingness can not be disputed". |

Somewhere maybe. By morons outside of our universe. Just a short time ago there was a quite big agreement of several members, that IMCDb is a refuge for gentlemen with sophisticated classic preferences: /vehicle.php?id=406822 ![]() |

...and non-SAAB people thinks the 9000 is the only "real" car SAAB produced... |
◊ 2011-08-10 21:19 |
I quite like the 9000 and indeed the 900/93s which came afterwards (even though they were pretty much rebodied Vauxhalls) as they still had something about them. They definitely put them together much better than their siblings. I still see a number of c20 year old 9000s going round. I haven't seen a Croma, Prisma or Alfa 164 in years. -- Last edit: 2011-08-10 21:21:59 |
◊ 2011-08-10 21:20 |
There was alot of 9000s in Murmansk back in early 90s... |

In many cases, that is where disaster strikes. HARD. |
◊ 2011-08-10 21:52 |
That is a VERY subjective opinion. This particular case is not a example of a sheep public. |
◊ 2011-08-10 21:55 |
But it is the fact. |
◊ 2011-08-10 22:43 |
Not for this case. A example of a sheep public is like "South Park or Family Guy made fun of or did [insert thing here] , so everyone should do it" or Twilight. Just Twilight. ![]() |

There is many levels of flock behavior.... |
◊ 2011-08-10 22:58 |
All of this talk of flocks has incited me to play 'A Flock of Seagulls' songs. A plague on all of you. |

And on all of our houses. |
◊ 2011-08-10 23:12 |
FoS weren't that bad .... I had some of their stuff on cassettes, along with other forgotten gems like http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18sGc89mYuA and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lkismiXva3M&feature=related (which should be sixcyl's theme song??). |
◊ 2011-08-10 23:19 |
Yes, but if something is good, many people will like it. Who hears good things about something and say something along the lines of "Okay, I won't buy [insert thing here] if you say it is good." Who? That defies all logic. Thats like "I don't believe in going to a hospital, so I will not take you to a hospital." -- Last edit: 2011-08-10 23:20:14 |
◊ 2011-08-10 23:53 |
Ok, so what is so good about Juke? |
◊ 2011-08-11 00:02 |
@Nightrider: It hasn´t got an ordinary design, the engines are good (above all the turbocharged engine with 190 hp) and you get a very well equipped car for its price. Actually it isn´t such a good car, cause it hasn´t got so much space in the back and in the trunk. Furthermore its suspension is quite harsh. But in my opinion it is a refreshing car here in Germany. |
◊ 2011-08-11 00:09 |
Instead it got ugly design. Is it so good? Also...who are that people, which buy Juke? Who they are? Lowest common denominator of society? |
◊ 2011-08-11 00:46 |
They are people who want to have a car which doesn´t stand on every corner. They like it´s curious design. Also the high driving position is important. Mainly singles or couples buy the car. -- Last edit: 2011-08-11 00:46:28 |

Regardless of that the Juke comes in at number 24 in sales in the UK for the first half of 2011 with nearly 11,500 units. It's sandwiched between the BMW 5 and Audi A4. |
◊ 2011-08-11 08:19 |
Well, they will stand on every corner, if they are so "popular". |
◊ 2011-08-11 08:20 |
And you shouldn't. |
◊ 2011-08-11 11:18 |
@Nightrider: It´s ACTUALLY QUITE popular. Of course Volkswagen sells more Tiguan´s, Ford sells more Kuga´s, but the Juke doesn´t stand on every corner. |

@Nightrider: a colleague of my wife owns a /vehicles_make-SsangYong_model-Rodius.html He absolutely agrees, that it's one of the ugliest concotions ever made, but he says "I give a shit on the other's opinion. When I'm sitting inside, I don't see the terrible design. I've bought it for one reason: no other way to get a car with a great Mercedes Benz 2.7 CDTi engine for such a bargain price". |
◊ 2011-08-11 19:46 |
Now that's a reason. |

This slogan you also can have on T-Shirts and as a sticker. Here on a license plate-holder: http://www.schildershop24.de/artimg/large/3333.jpg In English: "Life's too short for driving a crummy car" ![]() |
