In those days the councils only bought swedish makes, which leaves us with Volvo and Scania. And only Volvo had the break air reservoir mounted lengthwise. There were always a money issue when buying large amounts of HGV which means the bigger F10/F12 were far too expensive, and also far too big when collecting household rubbish (manaeuvrability). The two most common Volvos used were F6 and F7, and as only F7 had two break air reservoirs I'd vote for a Volvo F7.
