Introduced in Innocenti range in November 1965. It was named Innocenti Mini Minor |

a question to the experts: in the actual "Oldtimer Markt", in an article about an Innocenti De Tomaso, I've randomly read, that the Italian production of the orign Mini started in 1971. Maybe a mistake by the writer |

@ingo: check out http://www.getcarspecs.com/innocenti (page 6). I remember seeing them in Italy in 1966. |

Ah thanks, so 1966 was the first year. |

Today I got annother eBay-catch, the Summer 1972-issue of the "AA Drive". On the second page there is an advertise for the Mini "Before you buy a foreign car, check what the foreigners are buying". On the pic is the back view of an Italian Mini with "Roma"-plates. The badge says "Mini 850", nothing with Innocenti. Weren't they badged? In the text nothing is written about the Italian assembling, just "It may interest you, to learn that over 56.000 Italians bought a new Mini last year". P.S. About the "Markt"-article: it's written there, too, that nowadays the freaks are preferring the Innocenti-Mini, because it's quality and rust-protection, is not really good, but better that of the British originals. And that the Italian mini's had often more extras. |

At the risk of asking a stupid question, are we sure this is a real Innocenti? The Italian square plate (which looks fake) is mounted on the car via a blank single line plate, which looks suspicious, and it looks as if the bootlids on Innocenti Minis were adapted to suit Italian plates - to be specific, the light faces downwards and sits above the plate: /vehicle_176485-Innocenti-Mini-Minor-1966.html -- Last edit: 2010-02-13 20:12:00 |

This is the question, I have in my mind since a while. We are listing every Mini in Italian movies or Italian locations -sometimes in Swiss locations, too- as Innocentis - but were all Mini's running in I or CH, indeed made by Innocenti? Were the import- or market-rules in the 60ies and 70ies so strict as in Spain? |

@ingo: http://innocenti.punt.nl/upload/a5.jpg @Gag Halfrunt: I was just about to say the same thing. Like you, I now suspect that this is a pre-1966 British-made Morris Mini ... by the length of the badging above the plate, maybe Morris Cooper. |

Sorry Chris, the linked pic doesn't work. |

Does this? I've looked through all the Minis described as Innocentis on the site, and apart from this one there are only a couple I'm not sure of. -- Last edit: 2010-02-13 20:44:16 |

This is not an Innocenti. It is a Morris Mini Minor MkI. Look at the UK (and European tail plate) location (in black), and over it there is the more quadrangular Italian plate. |
