This car is supposed to be the 'Fabulous Hudson Hornet' of NASCAR and AAA Stock Car fame: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fabulous_Hudson_Hornet -- Last edit: 2006-09-20 15:43:29 |

IMO, Doc and the Sheriff are the best-looking cars in the movie. |

A couple of days ago someone came into my shop for an oil change and he was driving a 1951 hudson hornet. without a doubt the best looking car that has ever been, or will ever be in my shop. did you know this car has 32 grease fittings? |

Paul Newman considered this his best performance since The Verdict http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317219/trivia Incredible how one of his last movies was so fitting for him. |

Cheech Marin has said that there's a Cars 2 that's being made, If that's true and Doc's also in it, I wonder who'll do his voice, The same goes for Fillmore. Doc & Lightning Mc Queen are both very similar iany ways, Lightning learns that there's much more to life than always sheer speed and being the first across the Finish line, He learns the importance of friendship and love and Doc in contrast learns that secrets can't be kept forever. |

Likewise!!! I have a 1:24 scale Danbury Mint Die-Cast model of a Mercury Club Coupe Cop Cruiser that I got in 2004, I wonder if Pixar also ordered one which probably gave them the idea to base Sheriff on it. |

Well, Doc's not in Cars 2, Paul Newman stated that Doc was the best film role he'd had in recent years and I guess John Lassetter (The director) was extremely touched by that and when Paul Newman died of lung cancer, I guess Pixar decided to pay their respects to Paul Newman who was also a huge racing enthusiast and former driver by having Doc have passed away of old age somewhere between Cars 1 & 2 because I read that they felt that it would be completely inappropriate to re-voice Doc who was such a pivotal character in Cars 1 and as his voice actor Paul Newman stated, The best film role he'd had in recent years, But they did find another guy to re-voice Fillmore who was voiced by George Carlin in Cars 1, But then Fillmore isn't really a highly pivotal character like Doc & Lightning are. |

Interesting, when, how and where they get a license plates in Cars world? Is it works like a real-life passport? This way, is racecars like McQueen have no passport? |

What would interest me more is if the ships on Doc's "nose" would be anthropomorphic in the Cars world: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/24/Hudson_Logo.svg |
