*SPOILER* Dom, Brian and co. steal a bunch of 2011 Dodge Charger cop cars, and modify them into the state they appear here. Weird how they can change a brand new car into an older model |

I thought it was odd that the SRT-8s just popped up all of a sudden. Could be that they had them stashed away to be used all along, or they somehow had time to go out and find the cars and modify them for the vault job VERY quickly.... |

I think that filmmakers were sure, that nobody would think about it. |

I think the '11s has their part of the plan and the matte-black Chargers had their seperate part of the plan. |

The new ones do not change into the old ones. |

Actually Dodge provided preproduction '11s. But some '10 were modifed to look like '11s. A Dodge spokeswomen said it was a painstaking process to make '10s look like '11s. Perhaps they couldn't provide enough preproduction '11s. They did the modification of '10s into '11s instead of using CGI to create '11s. Go to www.jerrygarrett.wordpress.com for the article. The shape of the rear door windows gives away the ones that were modified. -- Last edit: 2011-05-06 07:45:25 |

2010 Dodge Charger 6.1L V8 5 Speed Automatic transmission 425HP @ 6200RPM 13/19 MPG 15.000 miles $20,000 O.B.O. One previous owner, slightly used. |

Why couldn't they just got themselves an American dually pickup; Like a Dodge, Ford, or Chevy for the vault job? |

I agree. A second gen Dodge Ram with a 5.9 Cummins should suffice. -- Last edit: 2013-06-26 05:12:34 |

The four black ones they had on set for the vault-pulling were build from parts, and the cage visible on the back runs throughout the car all the way to the front, practically carrying the bodywork. In the bts-footage, it is said that Dodge provided them with two police chargers, and enough parts to build "a proud fleet" of police, civil and vault hauling chargers. |

Automatic? I don't want to see this car ever again. |
◊ 2015-10-15 05:35 |
Chargers are automatic only. Similar Challengers can have manuals because unlike the Charger, Challenger's floorpan accomadates a manual trany. This info was explained when only the Challenger Hellcat offered a manual. |

They shifted gears like a manual, even though it's an automatic. |

If it weren't for movie logic, Brian and Dom would have been pulling the safe at 1 or 2 mph. |

never saw any of the movies but for that series logic seems to be a very distant concept anyway... after all they shot a Fiero into space... -- Last edit: 2022-06-06 11:47:19 |
