Its reads "4x4". Jeep Patriots come with the Freedom Drive II 4x4 system and it is available with a Off Road group package. Freedom Drive II has the capability to lock the front-to-rear torque distribution (the amount of torque fed to the front and rear drive wheels) 9-to-10 inches of ground clearance with useable obstacle clearance is provided along with full skid plate guards, brake lock differentials (traction control), heavy-duty cooling and 140-amp alternator. Both the Patriot and the Compass are scheduled to be replaced by 1 Fiat-derived model in 2013, The Liberty is scheduled to be replaced by a Fiat-derived model at the same time as well, and Jeep is supposed to unveil a new small SUV, again Fiat-derived, that will slot below the Patriot/Compass replacement. |

What tonkatracker said in 2011 is happening. The '14 Cherokee replaced the Liberty. The '15 Renegade replaces the Patriot and Compass. |
