Built where? In Germany Mercedes Benz has no bus-assembly-lines any more. |

Has to be the 2006 Mercedes-Benz Tourismo per the front bumper vertical line which cuts just under the headlamp. -- Last edit: 2010-10-11 13:04:44 |

@Petacchi: If it really is a Tourismo, it was assembled in Turkey, at least according to this German wikipedia article: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/EvoBus |

The EvoBus website says that the Mannheim factory makes bus and coach bodyshells and assembles Citaros, and Neu-Ulm is one of the assembly locations for coaches and intercity buses. Link to "www.evobus.com" (EvoBus is the Daimler group's European bus division. It also has factories in France, Spain, Turkey and the Czech Republic.) |

Thanks! This is exactly what I knew before as well, but I thought it was perhaps outdated information. Still, Ingo's not totally wrong as the German bus-manufacturers have indeed "reacted" to globalization by transferring a large proportion of their bus-operations to countries with lower wages. MAN acted similar to Mercedes-Benz by buying Neoplan in 2001. Soon afterwards, two modern factories in Germany were closed down. Most of the Neoplan lineup today consists of "re-badged" MAN-buses which are assembled either in Poland or in Turkey. |

Built in Turkey as I could find from this magazine article about Tourismo (Link), at page 112 (55 of the PDF) just above the page number. |
