It is, althought I was hoping it would be a Diamond Reo.

You know, now that I think about it, this probably is a Diamond Reo:

Maybe even the DC-101.

It could be an early Diamond Reo or a late Diamond T- White merged Diamond T and Reo into Diamond Reo for 1968- that style of grille was used until about mid 1970, when it was replaced with an egg crate design. If I could just see the badge over the hood a bit more clearly, I'd know for sure, but from what I can see it looks more like the Diamond Reo emblem than the Diamond T.

This particular tractor was owned by James House and Sons of Essexville, Michigan. The setups were unique in that they were SBFA single-axle tractors, set up to haul tandem dry bulk trailers. The trailers were built by Rex Transportation... James House was part of Rex. The tractor in the movie is #65. James House and Sons were big users of Diamond T/Diamond Reo tractors, though they did have a couple of Peterbilts as well.

Almost all of the James House (and Rex) equipment ended up in the same Northern Michigan scrap yard. According to the yard owner, one of the House trucks was involved in a serious traffic accident, and the company was sued. As a result of the lawsuit the company went out of business, and almost every tractor and trailer they owned were sold off for scrap.

Just for fun- here's a page showing James House #85 in 1988, and the same unit in the scrap yard 12 years later. http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/t_gibson2.htm
Notice that #85 has the later type "egg crate" grille.

Here is #69, an earlier model with the type of grille the movie truck has. Link to "www.flickr.com"

Here is one of the few that made it out of the junkyard under it's own power. Link to "www.flickr.com"
I doubt that one is the move truck unless it was retrofitted with a later model grille.

No idea what became of #65.

Diamond Reo C-90 (C-9042). The red color is bleached out on the emblem, but the Reo crown is visible at the top. Diamond T emblems were simple diamonds.

It is not a DC-101. Not only are the fenders too round, but the hood is both too short and too tall, all at the same time. The DC-101 hood extended forward of the fenders.

Judging from the angled-back ends of the bumper, this one looks like the set-back axle version. You can also see in the right rear view that the back half of the fender is attached to the cab, typical of set-back axle. Not sure what the BBC was on those but they were definitely longer than 90". Any idea what that model number was?
