Not Brazil origin, only developed in Brazil and used the VW Fox. But it's only built in Argentina. IMO, the origin it's Argentina. |

Note: It's the first called Suran in IMCDB, and the third vehicle (2 Spacefox + 1 Suran). |

If it was developed in Brazil then it should be Origin: Brazil, built in: Argentina, no? |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-09 19:30 |
but it's only built in Argentina. The VW Amarok, for example, are developed in Germany, Brazil and Argentina and also only built in General Pacheco. Given that only occurred here, should have the flag Argentina, in my opinion. |

but that is like saying that the Ford Crown Victoria should be listed as Origin: Canada because it is only built there even though it is an American car... |

But then the Ford Falcon since the early 70's here all have the flag of Argentina in origin, although originally a U.S. car, not the lead. Not to mention the Mercedes-Benz 1114 and derivates, which are all [L59], but are listed as Argentine and not as Germans. Even, I should clarify that this project (Suran / Spacefox, is the MPV for the VW Fox) was meant only to Argentina, which before 2006 was known that their manufacture would be here. -- Last edit: 2010-09-09 20:05:59 |

So is it a car that was designed specifically for Argentina? |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-09 20:12 |
At first, if, after the premiere of the VW Fox, it was thought in Brazil create a MPV based on this car, to be located only in Argentina after the cessation of production of the VW Gol. And the plant was chosen to Argentina to settle the model (for first sales in the country and then export - although in reality it exports more than it sold in the domestic market -) and supply all of Latin America, also providing cover at African continent. In addition, the original name is Suran, since due to the Brazilian chauvinism in this country is called Spacefox (Sportvan in Mexico) because Suran, resembles a wind of Patagonia in southern Argentina (only in Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile remained the model name). |

He added also that the General Pacheco plant participated in the final development of the automobile and the adaptation of the assembly line (since it has some components other than Fox, and not just a chassis stretched). |

'll continue when I return later, as I retire, thank you very much for your time Tonkatracker |

But that's just a SpaceFox with another name, no? If conceived by VW Brazil, should be origin=BR and buildin=AR. Origin here is for the model/conception, not where the car itself was produced. -- Last edit: 2010-09-10 11:01:37 |

Suran, never heard about a VW Suran, the pic is in a bad quality, but is it based on a Fox? I read about the possibility that VW wants to bring a Fox based car to europe (Cross Fox or Fox Plus...) |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-10 16:29 |
And I explained that for a Brazilian chauvinism stupid, I had to change the name Spacefox, as its original name Suran (because as they hate all Argentine). I do not care that the picture is of poor quality, you can see the car perfectly. As I explained, is a world car only produced here, so do not see why putting the Brazilian flag. -- Last edit: 2010-09-10 16:32:16 |

World Car? So I have to repeat stu's question, on which car it's based originally. I've also heard this name/seen this car, right here and now for the first time. So it's rather a South American car than a World car? |
◊ 2010-09-10 21:28 |
I googled and it looks like a Fox but an Estate version. |
◊ 2010-09-11 10:41 |
But you said it was developed in Brazil... |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-09-11 18:34 |
Yes, but that does not mean that the original name is not Spacefox, it's Suran, Spacefox its a forced adaptation of the original name. Even as I explained, this model was assigned only to Argentina after the cessation of production of VW Gol. -- Last edit: 2010-09-11 18:36:05 |

@ Ingo: also sold various African countries (North Africa and South Africa), Latin America besides this car. |

If they mean origin as for the plattform, well yes, then it's Brazil, but I think, eventough the brazilian Fox is the base of this estate, Argentina made the develop work itself. In my country it is called Specefox but it's just a name. Different was the case of the VW Gacel in the early 80s, this car was assembled in Argentina but the whole development was made in Brazil where it was called Voyage or Amazon for some South American countries. I agree that it should be origin: RA built in: RA |
Gomselmash11 ◊ 2010-11-03 04:10 |
yes igna, i understand. |
◊ 2010-11-03 21:45 |
but Gomselmash11 said that it was conceived in Brazil... I am lost here |
◊ 2010-11-03 22:04 |
the origin is Brazilian, and only made in Argentina |
◊ 2010-11-03 22:06 |
post this car as Argentina is the same as posting the fox as Argentina also |
